I know all about pirogues, the state boat of Louisiana Cajuns. Once, with a friend, I paddled around Alligator Bayou outside of Baton Rouge in a pirogue on a cold November Saturday (two days after Thanksgiving) while her husband sat in the little bar in front of the pot-bellied stove, where he roasted peanuts. We had the better time.
The medicinal plant idea sounds cool. The poverty does not.
I grew up in Tennessee, went to school in Maine, traveled/worked in Africa, and now live in Wyoming. I work as a guide for a wilderness ministry called SROM, as well as in the office year round as Accreditation & Administrative Manager. My husband and I married in May of 2012. Yeehaw!
